Canadian Metals future clients
Canadian Metals will work with the industrial clientele in North America. Canadian Metals intends to supply the local market, which will not only reduce transportation costs but the ecological footprint as well. Another important business vector will be to respond to the growing demand for the global silicon market.
Silicon does not exist in its pure state. It must be extracted from quartz, one of the most abundant minerals of the earth’s crust. Canadian Metals will produce silicon in the form of gray granules packaged according to each customer specifications.
The silicon manufacturing process generates added value co-products: silica fume and inert slag. Silica fume is a light gray powder made from silica, it is used to reinforce concrete and fibrocement. Inert slag is an oxide compound used in the steel industry, iron and steel foundries.
Silicon world market
Right now, the world’s aluminum market accounts for nearly 50% of the silicon market. In 10 years, photovoltaic applications will become the primary market.
